Soil Conservation Service
The Soil Conservation Service transferred to Local Land Services from 1 October 2017. The transfer ensures the service maintains its independent status, but align its operations and administration with our organisation.
In confirming the move, the Minister for Primary Industries, Niall Blair said the transfer would allow for a better alignment of land-related services within the NSW Government and provide an opportunity to improve service delivery and offer a one-stop-shop for customers.
The Soil Conservation Service is an environmental consulting and soil conservation business that specialises in land rehabilitation, erosion control, project management and resource protection. It offers a complete range of professional and technical services in erosion and sediment control, soil and water testing, land assessment, farm water supply, rehabilitation and re-vegetation techniques.
Over the past 70 years, the Soil Conservation Service has built a strong reputation for providing reliable, practical solutions to natural resource management issues, and is well known and respected for its work.
There will be no impact on the continuity of services for either organisation as a result of the transfer. There are expected to be improved efficiencies and a shared focus on practical natural resource management projects that will be of benefit to customers in regional NSW.
